Road marking request - Longden Roundabout

I would like to suggest an improvement to the road markings on the recently resurfaced Longden Roundabout.

The resurfacing work appears to have been completed very well and efficiently. However, I was disappointed that the opportunity was not taken to improve the lane markings on the roundabout.

I travel through this roundabout at least twice each day and regularly experience or witness dangerous near misses. The main issue is that vehicles using the outside lane frequently drift or cut into the inside lane. This is particularly noticeable when travelling southbound.

When I use the right-hand lane to continue towards the schools, vehicles in the outside lane often cross into my lane. I have previously been struck by another vehicle here and now encounter near misses on an almost daily basis.

I propose adding clearer lane-guidance markings, similar to those shown in my attached illustration. These markings would guide vehicles around the roundabout and encourage drivers to remain within their lanes, reducing the risk of collisions and near misses.

Clearer lane markings could also improve traffic flow at busy times. During rush hour, queues can extend beyond Kingsland and occasionally as far as Porthill Roundabout.

I would be grateful if the council could assess this location and consider introducing clearer lane-guidance markings. I would also appreciate information about any existing plans for further road-marking work at this roundabout.
