Request for double yellow lines adjacent to junction

Reported via mobile in the Other highways issue category anonymously at 09:34, Thursday 30 July 2026

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14216493.

I would like to make a request for double yellow lines to be placed on Bridge Road in Broseley Wood. They are necessary on the left hand side of the road going uphill towards Btoseley from the junction with Spout Lane and Cowell Road. When leaving this junction from the Cobwell Road side, the view up the hill is blocked in the morning and on many other occasions by cars illegally parked on the pavement - please see attached photos. From the position on leaving the junction (What3words assorted.clipboard.solution), the view is completely obscured - see attached photo. This has led to close situations of near collision as traffic often descends the hill in excess of the 30 mph speed limit. To gain a safe view of oncoming traffic, it is necessary to be nearly half way across the junction, leading to further dangers of traffic coming up the hill around a corner where the view is often obscured by tall, overgrown plants on the verge. This problem is caused by various vehicles parked in the same location as the red car in the photos. Please note, this is not a complaint about the parking but a request to make the junction safer.
