Traffic diversion

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14216066.

I see on the Causeway site(https://one.network/ ?GBTMI41297847) that the A488 between Knighton and Clun will be closed completely at New Invention from 3rd August to 18th September. The proposed diversion route is 37km. We live in Hobarris just East of the A488 (what3words ///cornfield.shoulders.wisdom), the road is narrow and in a poor state of repair with many potholes marked for future repair. It will be very tempting to use this road as a diversion to get back on the A488 as it would be a diversion of only a mile and I suspect satnavs will suggest it. It could be completely blocked if HGV's try to use it, and will make very difficult for local residents and emergency vehicles.

Is it possible to have this road closed to all but local traffic? A road closed sign at either end would help as the locals would know it wasn't closed.
