General Poor state of Ludlow Town centre and surrounding area

Having moved to the locality three years ago, with Ludlow being a key factor in that decision, it is deeply concerning to observe a continued and visible decline in environmental standards. There is a clear and sustained issue with litter, weed growth, and general lack of maintenance across the town. King Street is in a visibly degraded condition, with potholes exposing underlying road layers, creating the appearance of significant neglect.

This level of deterioration will have a direct negative impact on tourism and independent businesses, which are central to Ludlow’s economy and identity.

Furthermore, the situation is exacerbated by what appears to be an increased presence of Traffic Enforcement Officers. While this may contribute to revenue generation, it risks discouraging visitors. Thursday evbening (6:30), I was in town and out popped 2 Officers who took great pleasure slapping tickets on unsuspecting tourists.

It is imperative that both Shropshire Council and Ludlow Town Council take immediate and coordinated action. Resource allocation should be prioritised towards visible street cleaning, bin maintenance, and general upkeep, as a matter of urgency.
