Grass not cut at Garden Village, now completely overgrown.

Reported via mobile in the Amenity grass issue category by Megan Roberts at 14:08, Friday 15 May 2026

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14210999.

The green space at the top end of the village has become severely overgrown following the ending/change of the grass cutting contract. The length of the grass is now making the area difficult and unsafe to use for residents.

Several parishioners have raised concerns, particularly elderly residents who are now reluctant to walk across the area or exercise dogs there due to fears of tripping on uneven ground hidden by the long grass. Children are also no longer able to safely use the green for play and ball games, resulting in some playing in nearby roads instead.

This space has always been an important part of the community and its current condition is having a noticeable impact on residents’ wellbeing, safety and community use of the area.

Could this please be reviewed urgently and the grass cutting reinstated or arranged as soon as possible.

Kind regards, Megan Roberts, Highley Parish Councillor.
