Deep unavoidable pothole

Reported via desktop in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 07:00, Friday 15 May 2026

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14210955.

This large pothole is a permanent issue, has been here for months maybe even a year now. Is getting worse by the day. Is not easy to avoid, if you don’t know it’s there you would definitely hit it. The whole roundabout is in a very bad way.

  • This is still unresolved and very dangerous, especially for motorcycles and pedal bikes, it need immediate attention, especially with more bikes being out in the warmer weather. If you didn’t know these potholes were there you would hit them or swerve dangerously

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and added to our list of roads of engineering concern. This means more extensive work is required than simple spot repairs. It will be considered for work as part of a larger scheme of road maintenance as funding allows.

Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious issues. The list is not completed on a first come first served basis but based upon several risk and resource factors. A site's priority on the list changes regularly. Factors include weather related emergency work or awaiting the optimal time of year to complete works.

Due to limited and changing resources we are unable to provide an exact timescale. Often this can be months to years.

We will continue to undertake routine inspections in the meantime, whereby notifiable safety issues are recorded and scheduled for action in the interim.
