Road surface drop on edge of road

The edge of the road has a deep drop into the hedge after the bend in the road. Driving along Lamledge Lane (no lighting) at night my car tyre passenger side. dropped suddenly down the edge effectively down a pot hole. Causing me to momentarily via to the left into the hedge for a few metres until I came to a stop. I arrived at my parents and found my tyre warning light flashing that car tyres dropped was flat. Damage to the left side of the car.
