Large and deep pothole

Reported via mobile in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 23:15, Wednesday 11 March 2026

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14205061.

Pothole has been large for probably around a month. Big enough to ruin a tyre/wheel. Nearside as you head down towards Overton Road, just before the 30mph zone. If there is oncoming traffic then it is impossible to avoid, and in the dark it suddenly appears because it’s on a downhill, so not that easy to notice in good time.

  • The pothole is only getting larger and deeper, and nearby potholes are also growing in size. I can’t believe the opportunity wasn’t taken to fix them during the 6 week recent road closure which took place in the almost 2 months since my report. By now that pothole is a real danger, particularly in the dark.
