Drain blocked and floods, causes icy road

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14200697.

The drain is supposed to clear through a pipe under the road to a ditch on the other side of road. Ditch totally blocked. Have tried to get this sorted before. When weather cold the water freezes so road is dangerous for cyclists and also cars. The water comes down the hill from various under ground sources as well as rain. This issue has been ongoing for years.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
