Impassable roads - devaluing property
Reported via desktop in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 13:00, Monday 9 February 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14199439.
Inpassable in a normal car. The roads around Broome and Ruckley are so bad it is like driving in a riverbed. The road hit the bottom of the car and we were in danger of getting wedged. We cannot use this car again on these roads. It so highly unfair that teh rural areas are at the bottom of the lost when these roads are in teh worst condition by far. We are trying to sell our house and the access and state of the roads are seriously effecting the value and saleability of our property. We will hold Shropshire council directly responsible for this and seek any compensation as a result of how this is effecting our lives. The whole area around Broome, Ruckley, Lodge Hill is in a VERY SERIOUS state. You can also see from the photos the amount of mud left on the roads by famers who in 15 years I have never seen clean up after themselves.
