Large pothole at edge of carriageway on Godings Lane opposite garden of Shotton Cottage and telegraph pole
Reported via desktop in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 14:53, Thursday 5 February 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14198512.
This pothole was reported just over a year ago. It was subsequently filled in with what looked like loose MOT but this has now all been ejected by passing vehicles and the pothole is now about 6 inches wider and causing a significant hazard to traffic.

There is now an additional chunk out of the edge of the crater which now extends another 3 or four inches into the carriageway. It looks like some of the top layer tarmac has been dislodged and is now sitting loose a few feet further down the carriageway. This pothole is going to get worse fast particularly as the tarmac is being softened in the sun.
