Excessive litter along A5
Reported via mobile in the Litter category anonymously at 18:15, Sunday 25 January 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14196215.
I understand fully the budget issues affecting local councils, having worked in the public sector for over a decade, but the current state of the main roads across Shropshire and Telford are a disgrace. Presuming that a schedule for cleaning litter exists, can this please be increased? It's embarrassing showing visitors around the county at this point. I know it's often the people who are throwing cans and plastic falling off trucks that is the issue, but it's getting dangerous. Multiple times I've had to suddenly change lanes or move over due to debris and plastic sheets in the roads. Someone will get hurt. The more you leave the mess, to the less people care and the more people will litter.
