Litter picking needed with traffic management
Reported via desktop in the Litter category anonymously at 15:00, Saturday 24 January 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14196062.
This stretch of the A495 (including the Turners lane lay-by) is disgusting. Obviously the fault of the locals and drivers, but really needs cleaning.
As a volunteer I have cleared six big bags from the north side, but I can't do the south side as there is no verge or pavement and it has blind bends. Hence needs council to turn up and control the traffic. North side also needs more work with long-reach pickers, there's some very old rubbish deep in the hedges.
Please do this before you next cut the verges, mincing up the litter makes it much harder for you to clear!

'not enough money to sort this for the foreseeable future' is the truth. Closing the report (presumably to make performance look better) is not acceptable as this means it will never get done.
Call marked as problem still ongoing, because that is the truth.

Recognise that council has no money and won't be doing this immediately - nonetheless it needs doing so closing the log is not acceptable. Closed jobs never get done and give an inaccurate picture of the work backlog.

Again - needs doing so closing the log is not acceptable. This gives an inaccurate picture of the work needed.
