Standing water on highway
Reported via mobile in the Standing water on the highway category anonymously at 22:19, Monday 19 January 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14195198.
Despite being reported recently and marked as "fixed" this problem has not been addressed. Repairs have been made further up and down the highway, missing this stretch out completely. The recently repaired surface is higher at either end of the standing water which, therefore, cannot reach the nearest gully to drain away. The pavement slopes back towards the residents' new wall, holding water and causing frost damage and potential subsidence. The pavement is also narrow which means pedestrians, wheelchair and pushchair users, and children cannot avoid being splashed by water thrown up from passing vehicles...an unpleasant and unsafe situation. Householders are willing to meet an inspector, or a repair gang at the location to pinpoint it exactly. Please would you address this matter with some urgency? Your assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you.
