Existing untreated pothole now causing additional problems
Reported via desktop in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 17:07, Friday 16 January 2026
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14194746.
This large pothole was reported more than a month ago in mid-December and cones and temporary traffic lights were immediately installed. However since then, no work has taken place and the existing large pothole in the middle of the road has grown larger due to traffic still going over one edge of it, and there are now new potholes forming on the side of the road that traffic are using to avoid the pothole. The road is beginning to crumble at the side, caused by having to drive round the cones and existing pothole. I drive this road every day and, particularly since the snow and ice last week, it is getting worse each day. This is only going to continue to get worse - at the very least please move the existing cones so that we can safely drive along the road, avoiding both the original pothole and new pothole while we wait for repair.
