Road flooding outside The Old School and opposite Breidden House
Reported via desktop in the Drain blocked category anonymously at 13:25, Thu 4 December 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14189702.
The issue of this road drain flooding has been reported several times and the catchpit was emptied at some point but the problem appears to be about 50m further along the road near the Nesscliffe Hotel where the road has subsided (possibly due to the underground drain collapsing?) A repair was attempted by covering the subsidence with more tarmac! However the problem persists. The flooding occurs opposite my house and in addition to the problems to road users already outlined, when the floodwater reaches the apex of the road it cascades down my downhill driveway meaning I have to leave sandbags permanently in place as my gravel path has been washed away several times in the past during downpours!!
