Drain is sinking and moving at end of driveway

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14188452.

The drain cover is moving and is sinking. It is hard to avoid when we use our driveway and we are concerned that the heating oil tanker will cause it to collapse completely. There are white repair painted markings already around it, but these have been there for over six months and the repair work does not appear to be on anyone's list to do. The drop is causing damage to visitor's cars when their front bumper dips due to the dropped drain cover. PLEASE can this be done soon.

  • How long does it take? the white spray markings to "reset" the drain are now so old that they have washed away! our car wheels and suspension are being damaged by the drop and passing vehicles at night are waking us up. it was marked in mid 2025, further survey after my november report added the word "reset" in more white spray. next week is april 2026. should we just fill it with concrete?
