Large Potholes

These potholes have been here many, many months and have been 'marked' for several months - so much so that it's now difficult to see the markings as they have become weathered. The other big issue here is that on the opposite side of the road there are again several large potholes, drivers are positioning their vehicle in the middle of the road to avoid the potholes (understandably so) because of this when faced with oncoming vehicles, one driver has no other option to avoid the pothole if unable to stop/slow down in time (these potholes are on a national speed limit road). Unfortunately this happened to myself and caused damage to my wheel and popped tyre!

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
