Bloced drains on The Grove Steps

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14185917.

There are two blocked drains on The Grove Steps which run from the bottom of Bernard's Hill up to The Mall. I can't pick them up on your map. They have been blocked by soil and leaves for years and cause heavy rain to run down the steps in torrents. The water cannot drain until it reaches the bottom of the steps.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.

  • This situation remains unresolved and the drains on the steps on Bernards Hill from the junction with Grove Terrace to Hospital Street, heading past 75 Bernards Hill, are still blocked and in need of attention. Please check and take action.
