HGV vehicles hitting something on the road

I dont know what it is, but its very loud tonight and has been for the last few nights. Everytime a heavy vehicle is driving past this point, is making an awful loud noise waking us at night. I dont know if its a metal object or large holes in road, that has been reported many times before, due to the poorly laid road surface. This is now unacceptable and is waking us in Garden City and other residents at night. Before this part of the road was so called resurfaced, we didnt have this noise, even though the road was apparently in a worse condition. It needs to be dealt with urgently, as we are fed up with this disturbance at night, which is getting worse and worse. Plus the island to cross the road, hasn't be fixed and I know it has been reported. The temporary island sign is now on the grass verge and the light fixtures haven't been fixed since they were hit months ago. This is not acceptable at all, as many children use this island to get across the road, when the 40mph limit is not observed so many times day and especially at night. Now that the lights are drawing in for Winter, this is needed to be rectified urgently for pedestrian safety
