Large tree branches falling

Reported via desktop in the Tree problem on an open space category anonymously at 15:03, Fri 19 September 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14184908.

Another large tree branch has fallen, this time from the Beech tree in front of No. 35 Park View. This is the 3rd such incident of large branches falling from trees in this vicinity (with another one from the same tree a few months ago, and another one in the village playing field). These are large branches which could cause injury to people or damage to cars if they are underneath.

All the trees in Park View need a review, as they are getting too large and causing the following issues: - roots damaging pavements causing bumpy pavements causing trip hazards - roots coming under resident's properties damaging their house foundations - trees blocking natural light to properties as they are too large; and blocking light from streetlights at night, reducing security and increasing chance of slips / falls (we have elderly people in the village who are too scared to go out at night as it's too dark) - a large quantity of leaves in the autumn causing slip hazards on pavements in the wet - tree branches encroaching on power and telephone / fibre lines
