Drains throughout Clive parish
Reported via desktop in the Drain blocked category by Clive Parish Council at 10:31, Fri 19 September 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14184887.
Blocked drains have been repeatedly reported by both the Parish Council and residents (recently at the north end of Drawwell), and it has come to our attention that previous resident FMS reports have been closed immediately with no remedial action taken.
Blocked drains cause big problems with flooding in Clive, and without action it ultimately causes the village to become cut off at both the Yorton bridge and Sherwood bank ends of the parish. This also causes chaos with public transport not being able to reach the parish, and people being unable to attend appointments at the medical centre, which is a terrible waste of precious GP time, as well as extremely inconvenient to the patients.
Standing water on the highway also accelerates deterioration of the highway and causes further problems like potholes, which ultimately costs SC Highways more money to repair.
Please can Highways schedule a visit to Clive to extract blockages from all drains as soon as possible?
