Dangerous road closure today

I would like to make you aware of issues faced with a road closure that was in place today- Sunday 7th for an event in the village. I’m hoping this will help in future. The A41 became more dangerous today as the bottom entrance to the village was blocked off, this meant vehicles were turning around, going back up the A41 towards Cambers, turning around and then using the top entrance to the village. There were people stopping the traffic by the post office, which caused the traffic to back up and continue waiting on the A41- which is extremely dangerous. Other motorists were having problems on the A41 due to this and several near misses were caused- which is extremely worrying. I was also made aware that a gentleman needed to get to his house to attend to a medical emergency and wasn’t allowed through for over 25 minutes- at this time no runners were on the route. I wanted to make you aware so a better system could be put in place next year taking in to account the people who live in the village who aren’t allowed access to their own homes and the dangers of having traffic backing up on the A41 due to the whole village being blocked off at one entrance- extremely dangerous and worrying.
