5000 x 2000 x 200 deep pothole
Reported via mobile in the Pothole in a road category anonymously at 18:59, Tue 2 September 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14183839.
Thos pothole was first reported in October 2023. The ‘repair’ was carried out on 1st September 2025 (yesterday) but the workmen appear to have used cold rolled tar and did not remove all the loose stone before putting a thin layer of tarmac into the hole. This part of the road is collapsing because of the weight of the numerous HGVs and tractors driving on the road from Wrentnall to Broomhill Road. The repair is a day old and is already starting to fail. The workmen need to come back and resurface the entire section of road here as patch repairs do not solve the problem of the collapsing road. The photos don’t show the fact that the pothole is still there, evident due to the deep depression in the road surface. Can someone please arrange for an engineer to review the work completed yesterday and arrange for a more permanent repair to be carried out on this bend and indeed on almost the entire length of the road from Wrentnall to Broomhill Road. Thanks
