Persistent litter bin issues
Reported via desktop in the Litter bin overflowing category by Huw Rees at 13:07, Tuesday 26 August 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 14183378.
There are not enough litter bins on Bridgnorth High Street. Those we do have are too small and have no ashtrays. This causes litter to flow out of them, and cigarette ends to blow off the top. This is a particular problem every Saturday on market day, which sees a high number of visitors leaving litter. The issue is even more pronounced on bank holidays when you do not empty the bins. Ideally we need more bins installed, or existing bins to be made bigger with ashtrays included. Please respond advising what you will do to address this issue.

You have advised that work will be carried out as part of routine maintenance but this isn't something that can be resolved through routine maintenance. As I said, more bins are needed, or bigger bins are needed. Please advise me what you plan to do to address this issue.

Town Council are asking for an update on the persistent issue with litter bins and whether there is any decision from the Council yet regarding their request for more or larger bins
