Dangerous surface

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14182841.

The tarmac in this area is in extremely poor condition, has been reported several times and nothing has been done to date - where it only requires skimming and resurfacing. The surface is uneven with multiple potholes, loose debris, and broken sections, making it very unsafe for pedestrians and vehicles alike.

I have personally witnessed people trip, stumble and fall down here, which is especially concerning given the number of older residents who regularly access the village shop. The hazards are an accident waiting to happen and pose a serious risk to public safety.

We would be grateful if urgent repairs could be carried out to make the area safe and accessible again.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
