Ditch full of water weed

Reported via desktop in the Ditch blocked category by Karen Birch, Clerk to Ashford Bowdler PM at 17:33, Tuesday 29 July 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14181754.

There is a large amount of weed in the culvert, some of it 2-3 feet high. The photos were actually taken on 3rd July 2025 and considerable growth has taken place since then. When there is a large amount of rain, the quantity and density of weed will reduce the flow in the culvert and exacerbate the flooding problem in the village lane. I first reported this in November 2024 and have updated the report twice since but Shropshire Council has taken no action. The problem has never been as bad as it is now because previously the weed has been cleared every year.
