Broken Bin Storage - Veolia refusing to collect!

Reported via desktop in the Litter bin problem category anonymously at 15:04, Monday 21 July 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14181143.

This issue was reported back in April and the issue has still not been resolved! The bin storage unit was provided by Shropshire Council when the street improvements were made a few years ago to get the bins out of the alleyway. The Brackets/hinges are broken and this is a hazard, the heavy door could very easily fall on somebody and for this reason, Veolia are now refusing to collect our bins on health and safety grounds.

  • The door is now hanging off completely. It is a health and safety issue as it is loose and will fall on someone, the hinges are completely broken free. We are now having to leave our bin on the street along with the other local businesses and this is a hazard and as well as looking unsightly, this is attracting vermin.
