Unacceptable Condition of Pavements and Public Space
Reported via desktop in the Overgrown weeds/ vegetation from neighbouring property category anonymously at 09:40, Wednesday 16 July 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14180819.
Weeds have been allowed to grow (some up to two feet high throughout the cul-de-sac), primarily along pavements, in parking bays, and around the small grassed area at the end near the green metal comms boxes. These overgrown weeds are now trapping litter and making the area look neglected. More concerningly, the pavements pose a trip hazard, and the general condition of both the road and footpaths is poor, with significant dirt and debris build-up.
This area feels like the forgotten part of Monkmoor Road. As residents, we take pride in our environment and have made considerable efforts to maintain it ourselves, filling an entire wheelie bin with weeds we’ve managed to remove. However, the situation has now escalated beyond what we can reasonably manage.
We should not have to raise concerns about such basic maintenance. It is clear that this area now requires professional attention from the council.
