All the drains in Newcastle need to be cleaned out before we get any heavy rain, some even have grass growing out of them.

  • These drains remain blocked and there are several properties that will flood if and when we get significant rain and the drain sumps in the village remain full,

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
