Unauthorised and incorrect speed limit signage
Reported via mobile in the Other highways issue category by Dave Whale at 21:28, Sunday 6 July 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14180296.
Three 30mph stickers have been applied to a bollard, power pole and roadside drinking trough. I am aware of at least one resident having issues with the speed of vehicles passing through Upper Longwood which is a designated unrestricted- therefore 60mph stretch of highway. This signage attempts to deceive motorists into slowing down and , as far as I am aware, could be classified as being a criminal offence. Under section 23 of the road traffic act 1988 1 (c) interferes (directly or indirectly) with traffic equipment. By placing these stickers it implies an incorrect speed limit.
