How can trees be cut down in breeding season

Reported via desktop in the Tree/ grass/ shrub problem on a highway/ verge category anonymously at 15:47, Tuesday 17 June 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14179182.

Horrified to see so many mature trees in full leaf cut down here over the last couple of days. Perhaps they have got ash die back but is cutting them down completely best practice? If they didn’t have any leaves and were 100% dead perhaps a different story. But why when in full leaf does it have to be done now.

Did an ecologist check for nests? Was permission to cut at this time of year obtained and for what reasons?

Will you be replanting this important boundary? It shields residents from traffic noise and ligh pollution from the industrial estate. And provides habitat for local birds and insects.

Appalled like many others that this was done without notice or apparent communication
