Part of pavement inaccessable for mobility scooters, pushchairs and pedestrians due to overgrown hedge

Reported via mobile in the Encroachment of the Highways by Trees or Shrubs category anonymously at 19:53, Tuesday 10 June 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14178764.

My husband and I came down this pavement from the end of the road. My husband was on a mobility scooter. I was on foot. We found the pavement locked by the overgrown hedge outside no 28 Highfields. Unfortunately, there was no drop down kerb along the length of the road for my husband to reverse back to. Consequently he had to dismount the scooter and walk with my support over to the opposite pavement. I had to lift the scooter on and off the pavements and wheel the scooter over the road so my husband could resume his journey. I would think that pushchairs would have a similar issue. Pedestrians would also be inconvenienced as it would be dangerous to walk round the obstruction into the road with several parked cars to negotiate. The hedge needs cutting back immediately please
