8 second traffic lights

Reported via desktop in the Other Traffic Signals issue category anonymously at 18:33, Tuesday 10 June 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14178753.

The traffic light heading towards the heathgates island have an 8 second cycle every third or 4th time of changing. Imagine the frustration you have already queued from the malting to get to work, you are sat behind someones aunty edna in her light blue honda jazz when the 8 second cycle arrives, this isn't time enough for Edna to react put the car ingear, release the handbrake and pull away. So you lose another 3 minutes of your life waiting for the next cycle of signals. 8 seconds is not enough to allow even 2 cars through when they are paying attention.
