Could you please respond to email received below. Ludlow Council, I wish to report traffic issues as a resident of Ludlow (Charlton Rise). Can you assist with the following issues? Issue 1: I have observed over multiple days recently, dangerous traffic issues involving HGV trucks from the local training centre struggling to manoeuvre in our town and through the sheet road tunnel. The practice of training learner HGV drivers in central Ludlow is unsafe and an unnecessary inconvenience to residents and visitors. Is it possible to ban HGV learners and limit the town to < 7.5 tonne vehicles? Also can there be a weight limit on the sheet road tunnel to limit the size of vehicles through the tunnel? Issue 2: The entrance to Charlton Rise from Sheet road has been obstructed on multiple days with people parking on the corner because they are unsure that they can park on the newly installed electric charge points. Is it true that there is NO parking control applied to the Charlton Rise chargers? NB: very few people have been parking in the charging bays as the bays are unmarked on the roadway and the signage implies parking for charging. Can the road be marked with double yellow lines applied for 10 meters of Sheet road and Charlton Rise junction to conform with the Highway code recommendation that parking within 10 meters of a junction is dangerous. This frequent parking on the corner is causing an unsafe hazard for road users of both Sheet road and Charlton Rise. Rgds Paul Tedder 46 Charlton Rise, Ludlow SY81ND 07576616871
