Speeding traffic
Reported via desktop in the Other highways issue category anonymously at 22:02, Thu 17 April 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14175504.
Traffic, particularly heavy vehicles, speeding down A41 and causing properties to vibrate, likely causing structural damage. Also dangerous for pedestrians walking to access canal, lock side cafe and local public house. Traffic calming measures should be implemented on this stretch of road which is well used by pedestrians.

We are concerned at the excessive vibrations in our house, and worried that structural damage may be occurring. It is far worse when large vehicles are exceeding the speed limit on this stretch of road. In addition to property concerns, there are safety concerns for vehicles and pedestrians using this road.

It is over a month since I reported this issue. I can see that it has also reported in 2023 by someone else, and that report remains open. Can you please advise if this issue, particularly structural damage, is going to be looked into? Parts of my property are now showing signs of damage. It has been suggested that there is a problem with the road surface/structure to be causing such movement in the property.

Customer chasing this up as she is worried about the structural damage to the properties around the area, she thinks that the structure of the road is what is causing the problems and wants to know what it is we can do/will do to sort this out for them.

Can someone please update me on this issue which is getting worse? The vibrations in our property are seriously worrying, causing cupboard doors to open, and pictures fall of walls.

I reported this in April. The issue has still not been resolved. Can someone please visit my property to see first hand the damage being caused. Vehicles are causing serious vibrations in the home, and this is getting worse, suggesting a problem with the road structure. I am also now concerned that the vibrations may cause trees on our property to become unstable, which may cause a tree to fall into the road.
