Large /deep pothole

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14171087.

I note that this Pothole has already been reported to you at least twice and the markings around this pothole is apparent confirmation that you are already aware. This pothole is deep/on a sharp bend/on a Safer Route to School (ie William Brookes School). It has the potential to cause another vehicle to cross in to an opposite Carriageway.

I report to you as I understand you are the Highways Authority for the location under Section 41 of the Highways Act 1980 and therefore the responsible authority for the maintenance of this section of Highway. Any view of this Fix My Street map shows numerous issues with the Highways in the Much Wenlock area. This particular pothole is at least 7 inches deep x 2 feet 6inches long and 2 feet 4 inches wide. This pothole has the potential to cause dangers to pedestrians, which in this locality also involves considerable numbers of young people making their way to and from the William Brookes School, and vehicle traffic would in my opinion meet the criteria to be found in the case of Mills v Barnsley 1992 a case you will no doubt be aware of. As previously reported this pothole is expanding and deepening . It really is dangerous particularly as it is on this sharp bend and I would suggest needs very urgent attention
