House damage due to traffic/road surface

Reported via mobile in the Other Highways issue category anonymously at 12:04, Monday 24 February 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14170827.

Increasingly bothered by marked vibrations felt throughout our property on Wytheford Road. Our property is on the roadside and we notice it most in our bedroom when in bed. As the heavy traffic ( lorries) thunder past the whole house shakes and vibrates. The bed literally shakes very dramatically often waking us , or keeping us awake during the night. This vibration occurs each time a heavy goods vehicle passes and starts with a series of loud thumps/ bangs followed by a series of marked rumblings that echo through the rooms as the lorries race over the uneven road surface. This problem has been increasingly noticeable over the past months. There are some noticeable cracks appearing in the plastered walls in some of the rooms. Heavy traffic excessively speeding past and the very uneven/lumpy road surface cause me to inquire whether a speed restrictions can be considered or resurfacing/levelling of the road. Would be grateful if someone could investigate the cause of this increasing problem please.
