Pothole danger to school children

Although previously reported, no remedial action has yet been taken and the pothole is increasing in size. This is a very busy road, near to a junior school, and the danger to children, is, in my opinion, quite high, as vehicles may swerve to avoid the pothole and perhaps collide with walking children.

  • It is now 17 days since I reported this danger and still there has not been any repair to the pothole in the road. I am very concerned that the school children return to their school, next week, after a half-term break, and will again face the potential danger of a vehicle swerving to avoid the pothole and possibly making contact with a child, or children.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.
