Grit bin needed
Reported via desktop in the Salt / Grit Bins - New category by Barry PEABODY at 20:31, Wednesday 15 January 2025
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14166240.
This lane runs uphill from Abel's Harp pub. Its whole 1km length is above the normal 'snow-line' and is not on Shropshire Council's 'gritting route', nor is it part of any informal gritting service contracted to local farmers. Along its entire 1km+length the elevation rises from 290m to 365m, There is one grit bin at the 350m elevation point and residents make use of this at the steepest section of the lane but (if the lane is not to become part of any gritting route) additional grit bins are required at strategic points to enable the lane's residents to access their properties during prolonged periods of snow/ice, No service vehicles (bin lorries; post/delivery vans; emergency services) can use the lane during snow/ice and any resident trying to leave/return, runs great risk of danger. Please accept this request as urgent for a reappraisal of this lane's gritting needs.
