B5009 floods regularly. Accidents happen.

Reported via desktop in the Standing water on the highway category by Heather Seaward at 16:33, Tuesday 7 January 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14165066.

A short section of the road floods quite deeply regularly. Several vehicles aqua plane. In November a car planed off the road in the dark and rolled into the hedge taking out the hedge. The field had livestock which had they escaped could cause further accidents. Fortunately I was able to contact the farmer who although not living near was able to make a speedy repair. The small boy passenger and driver were ok. I fear More accidents will likely occur if a solution isn’t found. The issue has been there since I moved here in February 2021.Flood signs are sometimes put up but then left long after the water has gone and so the signs are no longer effective.
