Foul sewer flooding

Reported via desktop in the Flood category anonymously at 18:56, Mon 6 January 2025

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14164893.

Severn Trent are aware of this matter but have done little to resolve the matter after three winters of problems to date. While the storm water from the foul sewer is dilute but very silty it drains to a storm drain that discharges to a watercourse that connects to the River Tern after every period of heavy rain. How many other illegal sewer discharges are there like this in Shropshire?

  • The sewer flood continues Severn Trent have been out investigating but due to the poor weather the waste water turned to sheet and black ice overnight in the freezing conditions. The lane has not been gritted by Shropshire Council so its treacherous, i slipped and fell on the ice yesterday retrieving a parcel from a delivery driver. It's additionally unpleasant if you fall as the frozen surface still has sewage flowing over it in places. The village grit boxes on the otherside of the village don't appear to have been topped up so we cannot even grit the lane ourselves.
