Blocked ditch
Reported via desktop in the Ditch blocked category by Ellis Round at 12:08, Fri 13 December 2024
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14163125.
The ditch between WYTCHWOOD and CLODDY HALL FARM is blocked in many places causing water to run down the roadway. When this freezes, driving or walking down the lane is impossible. Ice covering can reach 2 inches depth. In addition, the roadway edge is being scoured away. The blockage is caused by vegetation, debris from hedge cutting and fallen timber.

This report of the blocked ditch still has no resolution, and is approaching 12 months since it was first raised. Water is now flowing down the lane as predicted. Please please will you authorise work to clear the ditch. I refer to my original message about ice formation on the lane.

It is now 12 months since I first raised the problem of the blocked ditch down Brunslow Lane. Water is running down the road surface and scouring the tarmac edge. Recent repair work resulted in backfilling of a culvert pipe which was partially opened up by hand shortly after, but this has blocked up again and water is again running over the surface. This original problem of the blocked ditch is now 12 months old, so please inform me when I can expect corrective action.

This report is now over 12 months old. the water running down the lane has eroded the edge in many places creating a large drop from the tarmac edge . It has created a hazard which can result in emergency vehicles becoming stranded. The large council vehicles continue to break the edge. I have reported this problem several times over the last year. Two council repair men arrived last week to fill two pot holes . one of which was on a section of the lane only ever used by farm vehicles. This must have been an error of location.
