Insufficient drainage on the road leading to flooding in private properties

Reported via desktop in the Property flooding issue category anonymously at 08:57, Tue 26 November 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14161133.

On multiple occasions in the last few months the current drainage on the road has been insufficient to deal with water running off the fields and down the road. This has lead to large amounts of water running down the road and into private property, causing flood damage and making the road unsafe to pass. There is a drain entrance on the side of the road closest to redcastle house, but due to the slope of the road, the majority of water here runs to the side of the road closest to Wern Mill and bypasses the drain entrance. This area really needs a drain entrance on both sides of the road to alleviate this issue (it is believed that the drain runs directly under the road anyway so it should be a relatively small job to add a second entry point).
