Flood water across road

Two drains. One blocked and other partially blocked. Can’t be manually cleared. Tried ridding. Flood water blocked pedestrian access and hazard to cars. Flowing down road opposite to property below. Flooding in road further down.

    The drain is still blocked. Full of stone and likely collapsed pipes as previous Roding indicates structural blockage after cleaning. Causes the road to be blocked by water and heavy rain accumulation eventually runs down the road opposite causing floods to the property below.

  • Thanks for sending the engineer to unblock the drain. The engineer reported that there are roots growing into and blocking the drain. Unfortunately he did not have the correct root cutting equipment with him so said he would report this for a follow up visit with the required equipment. Please provide update as to when this visit will happen and the problem will be resolved.

  • The issue you reported has been assessed and the necessary work will be included in our programme of upcoming maintenance.

    Our priority is to be effective at responding to the most serious problems so at this time we are unable to provide an exact timescale.

    In the meantime until these works can be undertaken, we will continue to undertake routine inspections, whereby notifiable issues are recorded and scheduled for action.

  • Drains on the location provided remain blocked with debris and tree roots as described above

    Engineers with appropriate equipment have not attended- flooding persists
