Flood water has taken out wall

Reported via desktop in the Bridge category by Paul Herbert at 15:27, Sat 23 November 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14160806.

Massive amounts of water have destroyed bridge - wall has fallen into Pentre Wood. Extremely serious. It’s a shame that work hasn’t been undertaken to slow the flow upstream. Water has been channeled direct into this watercourse and culverts have made the problem much worse.

  • I can’t believe you have updated me with ‘the work has been completed’ - it hasn’t even started! This makes Fix My Street look like a farce and is embarrassing for Shropshire Council. You haven’t even obtained quotes from your contractor. Villagers are considering more protests to gain national media attention and may even start the repairs works themselves. We will certainly be obtaining quotes from local contractors and presenting then to Andy Wilde et al. In the meantime please crack on with repairs and at the very least gain a quote from Kier.
