Pavement distorted - serious trip hazard opposite school
Reported via mobile in the Pavement surface issue category anonymously at 17:10, Thu 21 November 2024
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14160669.
This area of pavement and indeed road has suffered from dips and movement (even a small sinkhole was rectified in the area in 2022). This has been discussed with Shropshire Highways on a number of occasions, the pavement and road are around 1 metre lower than the natural ground level and VERY close to the water table. This is causing movement when heavy vehicles cross.
Please see attached images: * The movement of the tarmac pavement * The natural ground level on both sides of the pavement/road * Water seeping from the water table immediatly below (Shropshire council have validated there are no water pipes the the location) This is almost opposite the school and the main thoroughfare to the church and therefore represents a risk to children, parents and the elderly. The issue is outside "The Old Parsonage" in Upton Magna and has been an issue for at least three months. The winter conditions heighten the level of risk. Thank you for reviewing this.

On the 29th of January, Shropshire council stated (above): "We have now arranged for the required work to take place to resolve the issue you reported to us."
It is now the 1st of October and nothing has been done at all. In fact, the issue is now worse. Please urgently advise.

Nearly two months on (and over a year since the initial request), nothing has happened, despite assurances from the council. Can you please provide an urgent update?
