Restricted pavement in High Street

Reported via desktop in the Highway Boundary Query category anonymously at 19:04, Thu 31 October 2024

Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14159179.

Glebe House is situated at the North end of Albrighton. The public footpath abutting the front hedge has become dangerously narrow due to the dense holly hedge fronting Glebe House. The path is used by many elderly people and mothers with push chairs who have to come into contact with the holly hedge to avoid oncoming traffic. Many people refuse to use this stretch of pavement and instead make an unnecessary road crossing to avoid the risks from fast moving vehicles. In my opinion, unless the hedge is reduced back to the boundary wall, there is a high likelihood of someone losing their balance and falling into road.
