Highly Dangerous Pothole Measuring 2m x 1m on East Bound Side of Carriageway
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway pothole category by Stuart Hay at 21:34, Sunday 27 October 2024
Sent to Shropshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 14158810.
As mentioned by several tax payers, this road surface has been repaired on at least 6 occasions during the last 12 months. The quality of the work, which no doubt costs £1000's each time, is absolutely appalling.
I have personally reported issues with the carriageway outside Plealey Villa on numerous occasions. This massive pothole is highly dangerous to all motorists, motorcyclists and cyclists using this stretch of road. The entire stretch of road in fact between Annscroft and Plealey is in an appalling state. It should be noted that although this is a country road, its used by 100's of vehicles per day as it is a short cut not only to Shrewsbury, but also to the A49 at Condover.
This entire stretch of road needs to be completely resurfaced to a high standard. Knowing how this appalling council is run, nothing will be done until someone is seriously injured or killed.
Dozens of potholes have recently been filled in on the same stretch of road, the quality of the work is appalling. The potholes will no doubt reappear in the coming weeks. Instead of wasting £millions on the buying and selling of shopping centres and deliberately inconveniencing motorists by creating 3 new ridiculous and highly expensive one-way systems in the town centre, money should be invested in our roads in order to make them safe to travel on. Someone needs to be made accountable for the money that is wasted time and time again.
This filling in of potholes is not a statistics exercise. The roads have been neglected for years. The council has a duty of care to ensure that the roads on which we travel are fit for purpose. This stretch of road falls well below the standard expected.
If this isn't sorted immediately, then our local MP will be contacted re this serious issue.
