Give way sign knocked over - Electrics showing

Over the weekend a car has gone over he give way sign at the junction between Newport Road and Admirals. We are concerned as there's electrical wires showing where the sign should be fitted to the post. The Police were in attendance when I took the picture and they possibly have identified the car in question, so it may pay to contact them directly for more information.
